Great dessert courtesy of Park Avenue Mansion


  • 6 almost ripened pears
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3/4 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of white wine
  • 1 can whipped cream


Peel and cut pears into small pieces. Chop cranberries into small bits. Melt butter in a saute pan, add pears, cranberries, brown sugar and wine. Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes until pears are tender not mushy and alcohol has been cooked out of recipe. Put whipped cream in a pretty serving dish, add warm pears and the mixture starts to bubble over the cream. Serve warm.
